Together with our partners, we are extremely proud to offer to our guests a fantastic horseback holiday center. You may be a complete novice or a seasoned rider; this is such a great day out that it’s definitely one you won’t forget in a hurry. Situated on a property that holds a beautiful Country house in the Cape Winelands, just 30 minutes from Cape Town, you’ll find Cape Winelands Riding.

The staff’s main aim is to provide whatever the client wants, whether it be a day’s wine tasting combined with a leisurely ride out, right up to two weeks of intensive training. The instructors are extremely well qualified; in fact guests will be hosted by one of South Africa’s most highly qualified international level riding instructors. You can rest assured that the horses are extremely well cared for and maintained to a high level, which makes for happy, healthy horses to ride.

The Rides:

There is an area of over 3000ha available for a variety of rides. The team at Cape Winelands Riding can offer short rides through the orchards and vineyards, as well as longer rides combining vineyards with wine tasting.

Lunch, picnics or even dinner can also be added for a different experience. On hot days our guests can go swimming with the horses in a nearby lake. Some of the horses love this experience and really look forward to it; we find that so do our guests.

We can organise for you full day ride outs which take you from the one wine farm to the next, all the while tasting great wine and enjoying good food and good company. Some of these rides wind through the pine forests and up mountain sides. The rides are always very safe for both rider and horse.

One thing we can say about all the rides is that they are ALWAYS filled with beautiful scenery and vistas. A photographer’s dream.

Besides the out rides the team can also offer lessons to our guests. Whether you wish to brush up on your dressage skills or just generally improve your seat and riding confidence, the team can help, with the international level 2 coach who is on staff. You can even try your hand at cross-country, on the on-site cross country course, or get some training with show jumping.
