CLOVELLY COUNTRY CLUB
|
Nestled in the pristine and tranquil Silvermine Valley in Cape Town lies
Clovelly Country Club. With one of the finest golf courses in South
Africa, Clovelly offers its visitors a memorable experience. Clovelly,
like fine Cape wines, improves steadily with age, and its vintage and
quality is well established throughout South Africa, and indeed, beyond
our shores. This reputation is founded on the warmth of Clovelly’s
“family” character, its outstanding facilities. Clovelly has always
been one of the most popular clubs in the Western Cape, and is one of
the most frequently visited courses. Visitors from as far as Thailand
and Ireland frequent the fairways, and tour groups from far flung
corners of the world regularly repeat their visits because of the
golfing experienced to be enjoyed in the pristine valley. Between the

world! The golf course and facilities are consistently rated in the top
fifty in the country by a leading panel of judges utilized in the annual

KING DAVID GOLF CLUB
|
Founded in 1956, The King David, or the K.D as it’s affectionately known
locally, has had an extremely interesting history. The course was
established mainly due to Cape Town’s large Jewish population who wanted
to play without discrimination which, at the time, was rife in other
clubs. The K.D has never turned away a member for reasons of race or
religious belief. Designed by Bob Grimsdel, a prominent course designer
of the time, the 18 hole championship course has remained largely
unchanged to this day, testament to a great original design. The great
South African golfer, Gary Player, is quoted as saying that the par 3
12th hole is one of the best par 3’s he’s ever played...praise indeed. |
